Title: Resonance Snapshots

Abstract: Of great interest in Mathematical Physics is to establish the long time dynamical behavior of a fluid or plasma in a non-equilibrium state, whether transitioning to turbulence, forming coherent structures, or relaxing to neutrality, a resolution of which requires a deep understanding of resonances. They are always responsible for extremely rich physics and challenging mathematics, including Landau damping, plasma oscillations, plasma echoes, and trapped particles. This lecture is aimed to present some fundamental examples of resonances, along with their physical consequences, and the state of the art on recent mathematical efforts around resolving them. The lecture should be accessible to students and the general audience.
